FLOYD

Industrial Design

How cool can a suitcase be? Maybe not quite as casual and stylish as the skatekids in Venice in the 1970s. But at least so cool that they would have travelled with it! With this in mind, Panoorama developed the Floyd line of suitcases on behalf of the accessory and luggage specialist “Star-Tags”. The high-quality and unconventional wheeled suitcases in special metallic colors pick up the colorful design language of the tuned cars and boards in the L.A. of the 70s. And they offer another very decisive detail: The cases glide smoothly and maneuverably on skateboard wheels that Panoorama developed especially for Floyd – as do the handles and the modification of the axles. During the project, the design office took over, among other things, the entire technical communication with the producer and created the visualizations of the suitcases in advance. These in turn immediately made it under the trolley Top10 of lifestyle magazine GQ, into the product range of fashion houses like Breuninger – and of course alongside the coolest guys at check-in.
